I am trying to connect to my home network with a wireless D-Link USB adapter but every time I try to connect to the network it will act like its connecting but then lose connection after 3-4 seconds. It will continue to do this all day long. Just when it tells me its acquiring network address it will disconnect. Anyone know what my problem is? I had a trendnet pci wireless card and it did exactly the same thing as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

low signal strength?
how far away are you from the AP?

what channel is it on?
what security is it set at?
what about other computers?
do you have to reset the router to correct this?

97% signal strength
25 feet
Other computers connect fine
Channel 1
WPA-PSK

Are using the D-link utility or Windows? Some of those D-link cards do that if you don't use their software.

make sure nothing is too close to the adapter. phone, fridge, anything that electrical and can change the frequency
