All of them are less than $200 (when converted). But the Zenfone 5 is easily the most expensive among them, and availability is also an issue.

I'd put the ASUS Zenfone 5 on the top... performance, for one thing, but also because ASUS is the only company of that bunch that's likely to still be around in a year's time. To me, buying from a tiny brand to save money is a false economy if you find yourself replacing the phone earlier, or if it breaks and you can't get a replacement.

Add the moto g somewhere to that list.

Yup, the only phone I would consider for less than $200, if just for the support you'll have afterwards in software updates and warranty work if needed. There was a guy on here that made a thread about his experience buying some generic Chinese knock-off phones and despite them saying they supported his carrier's (T-Mo I think) bands, he couldn't get any data service on the phone for some reason. He went through 2-3 phones and none of them would work.

I'm in the Philippines, and the other brands are local. They have been here a long time as well...anyway the problem with the Zenfone is availability. Because of how cheap they released it here in Southeast Asia, looks like supply problems are cropping up.

I should mention the Xiaomi Redmi 1S too, but their kiosk is only until today and I still don't have the money to buy one immediately LOL.

The problem with the Moto G? Motorola have pulled out ever since the RAZR. So I'll have to buy it from "grey market" sellers that will import it. So no official support either.

The Motorola-made Nexus will be made available only through the major carriers. And the only way you can buy from them is through contracts, which is out of the table...

kiosk is only today? don't worry, they will have another kiosk :) Common sales tactic to "limit sales time" and stuff like that.

I don't have knowledge of the other phones sorry, but I can recommend Xiaomi phones purely based on the software experience. They have MIUI which is a pleasure to use compared to any other Android skin I've seen and very smooth. They also seem to have very good hardware.

To be fair though the other phones' main strongpoint really is price, as the Zenfone is the most expensive among them. And it also has availability issues. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S has a different "availability issue" because they only set-up temporary kiosks that will sell their phones. At the moment their only permanent presence is a service center.

So I didn't really mention specific prices and focused on the specs to help others compare...

The Cherry Mobile Ultra seems decent, it has a Snapdrogon chip. Not familiar with the Mediatek Octa cores, but a Snapdragon quad will kick a Mediatek quad's ass. Is the Blackberry Z3 an option? Ive noticed theve been selling more to markets like The Philippines.
