Whether stock clocked or overclocked, my system has started freezing at random times for 30 secs or so and then goes on like nothing ever happened. It happens during games, chatting on AIM, or even surfing the web. May happen once every two days, once a day, 5 times in 20 mins. It has been doing this for about a week. Sometimes it will even "freeze" on the boot screen after I restart it after one of these "freezes" in windows. Weird thing is that when it locks on the boot screen there is always a quarter inch thick, light grey, vertical line top to bottom about 2 inches from the left side of the screen. I checked the ram with memtest and it had no errors. Tested each stick separately and then together. Ran it for about 2 hours each time. I've gotten a new video card since the first time this happened so I ruled that out as well. So that leaves me with HD, mobo, proc. I ran the Western Digital HD diagnostic but it didn't find anything wrong. Gonna run Prime95 tonight and see what happens. Any other ideas? I don't think its windows because it's happened at the boot screen a few times. Just for the record I've been running OC'd since mid-January.
