Random Slowdowns

I got my 6850 in the mail yesterday, popped it in, and everything was golden.

However, I've noticed something strange. I'll get massive slowdowns at seemingly random times. Not in games, mind you, just when browsing the web or looking through folders. The slowness continues until I open a video in my browser or start a game. Opening a video on my computer does not fix it.

Any ideas what could be causing this? It's happened three times since yesterday. I've tried 11.5b and 11.6.

Edit: To give a specific example, let's say I'm in Firefox. When I open a new tab, the tab opening motion should be smooth and instant, and most of the time it is. When this occurs, though, it seems sluggish, and opens in slow motion. This isn't very annoying, obviously, but this slowness is extremely annoying when trying to watch videos (on my computer, not in Firefox).

Bump. Any ideas?

At first I thought it was something to do with 2D/3D clocks, but the card is at 2D clocks more often than not, and it's fine 95% of the time. It's almost as if it's dropping below 2D clocks and not showing it.
 
My problem isn't the same as yours but it's similar in the sense that it's annoying and a bit strange. My problem pertains to drop down item boxes. For example, if I open up the CCC, and I go into AMD Overdrive, and I select either the first or second GPU, it's very slow and sluggish - not fluid at all.

I'm not sure if the problem is resolved, but when I set my RAM speed to 1600 mhz, the sluggishness seems to have gone away. My RAM was previously set to 1066 mhz, as I was having stability issues, which is why I set it to 1066 mhz. But now that I've set it to 1600 mhz, the problem seems to have to have gone away. Will need to test it some more to see if it's completely fixed but so far, so good.

I have absolutely no idea if our problems are related or not, but if your RAM isn't set to 1600 mhz in the BIOS, it might be worth a shot to try and see? It's probably a long shot, but no harm in trying.

Edit: Doh, the sluggishness is back. :( Never mind....

That has happened to me as well, though it's not happening right now.
