Random reboots with a twist

Well, yesterday I got a new cdrw. I put it in, and while doing that, i rewired my case.Moved one of my intake fans from infront of my hds, to just below them. Since then ive been getting these random reboots, and just before they happen, its like the hd is trying to access alot of data in one second, and it flops over. Aafter that, I get a bsod (today is the first time ive gotten a bsod in 2 years) and then after the bsod, I shut down the comp, and go to reboot, but it wont actually load back into windows, unless I give the comp like 10min. Ive also noticed my temps have gone up, i used to sit idle at cpu: 32c sys: 19, right now its 37/23. this is cooled by a sp-97+tornado at about half speed. Could my psu not be able to handle my system?

;I have a 420w turbolink psu :)()

Please help.

What exactly are you doing when you get the BSOD? I'd venture that your PSU is more than sufficient.

I had problems with an AOpen AK77-333 and a CD-RW, but I don't think that'd be the problem - have you tried putting your fan back to the original position? Also, which case are you using? My Ahanix will get pretty weird depending on fan placement and voltage.

Try unplugging the new cdrw and see if it reboots. If it doesn't, well the cdrw is the problem, get new drivers, plug it into a different IDE channel. If it isn't the problem, then try each component and see if it is causing errors. Try scandisk for the HD, it may have errors.

im using a cheiftec dragon style case, and i had a liteon cdrw before the aopen sooooo, also the leds on the fans in the psu recently stoped working.oh ya i also have a 9800pro with 512ram

Have you ruled out it being your RAM? I would try to run memtest and see if you get any errors. You'll need to run it for several hours.

If it just started happening cause you added something new to the system then it could be your PSU. Non name brand PSU's are very troublesome.

There could also be a heat issue. Move everything back to the way it was and make sure your CPU heatsink is on perfectly.

It is possible that this is completely unrelated to your drive upgrade... in fact, I would put money on that.

you have a case of the dreaded "put hands in computer" syndrome.

Go back, check all cables (especially power), make sure fans are spinning, check everything twice.

This is an example of the worst part of diagnosing computers-- the random reboot.

well, i lowered my oc down to 2000mhz and vcore down to 1.675 and it seems to be okay right now, heat also went down. but i had been running at 2200mhx for like 2 months :(
