Well, I've been having some problems lately with my computer locking up on me while I'm in Windows. It will do it after startup if I don't do anything for a few minutes, or randomly at other times. I then have to do a hard reboot and after that Windows will freeze at the loading screen before Vista fully boots. Usually another hard reboot will get everything started. It seems like some type of hardware issue.
Specs:
IP35 Pro w/ ver. 17 bios
Q6600
2x2gb A-Data DDR2-800
Sapphire HD3650 w/ 8.10 drivers
Corsair 450W PSU
Vista 64bit SP1 with all updates
K-World TV tuner (I suspect that might cause the banding I described below)
Abit Airpace wireless card
I've also had some other problems where I've had the computer lock up and the screen gets all messed up, like horizontal banding that looks pixelated. That to me seems like more of a driver issue.
Anyway, I read through the troubleshooting guide and tried to do some of those things before posting. I've done the following:
1) run memtest for a few hours (maybe 7 or 8 passes?) - no errors
2) updated all drivers and my bios
3) ran prime95 today for about 7 and a half hours. It's interesting one of the cores got behind the other three by about 13 minutes and then it just skipped another pass to get caught back up. Look at all of the times for test 7. What's going on with that?
I also had the computer lock up the first time I ran prime (before this run, had to hard reboot as described above). It was running for a little bit and then I tried to start uGuru and it froze.
You can see temps look good and everything. It's all at stock volts and timings, etc.
Sorry this is long and thanks for the help.
