I haven't posted in awhile so I just wanted to share some random snapshots with you guys :). I used my flash on number 3,5,& 6. These images were mostly taken with either the Canon 50mm or the 28mm. Anyway, without further adieu:

I love #6.

I had to take pictures of water recently, and I had to show the differences between clear water and yellow water in B&W...it turns out in B&W...there is no real difference between them. I don't get to PS it either... :(

I turn my pictures into the paper today and see what they say about mine...

It wasn't hard at all, I had somebody hold the fountain, then I photoshopped it out using the clone stame tool. I did use my new 430EX flash though :D. Thanks for the comments and please do post your pictures up. I'd be more than happy to view them :D!

This is the first night i got my 20D, my uncles palce was boring and it was cold and rainy out so i just messed around with stuff i could find and he smokes like a chimney.

Burnt out

the colors arent great - one it was a flourescent light bulb and 2nd i have master the manual white balance settines yet.

I have some of my recent pictures at my blog ( http://photogblogs.com/blogs/timaxe/ ), but I'll post a few here...

They're not all that creative though. I just wanted to show yellow water next to a clear liquid...and who would have known they don't sell individual water bottles in clear containers here - only sodas.

I just used a shutter speed of 1/250 here, used flash (onboard 20d flash because my 420EX batteries were recharging) and turned all of the lights off in the room and got it as dark as possible. A shutter speed of 1/250 could never freeze the action of moving water, but the flash duration would. I just didn't want to deal with odd color temps for most of these though.

Since I don't live where I took the pictures though, I can't just redo it easily. Did it in about 10-15 minutes and had to leave for other picture taking.

(the yellow water dissapeared after running the faucet for a while)

(didn't work because the dirty window was required to keep stuff from falling out and the container was not fully transparent - I later tried a wider lens because I wanted a less magnified background, but it was a tree and not a pretty green/blue scene)

Any suggestions for a good macro lens? i love shooting insects around here.

You probably want to stay with Canon Lenses right? I believe the Canon 100mm Macro is a very good candidate. A couple of people on here have that lens. Just search for it :).

I, myself have the Tamron SP AF 90mm Di and it works for me.

Also, you might want to ask our resident Macro Guru on here PS-RagE. He has all the goodies, for sure. You should see his Macro photography, it's pretty mind boggling!

Dude your photo blog is dope! I like the swimming competion and the Karate Angle one... Very nice! The running squirrel & "The Guys" picture looks like it came from a movie capture. Wow, really nice shots Tim :)!

Also, when you say "yellow" water, is that what I'm thinking it is :( (PISS?) lol!

so thas a way to do it, i have to working on my light abilities and such, right now i am mastering manual quick focusing with rapid shots.

that is a sweet blog, bookmarked that one for sure!

As for the lense i dont need to stay with canon, especially with their prices! well over $1000 for a decent macro + a 1:1 adapter.

Do you guys send any pics to istockphoto.com ? i upload some good ones now and then myself.

it took me alot of tries to get this guy to focus, it was windy and overcast so i had to crank up the ISO to 1600 i beleive to get a decent shutter speed off it, i hate that about digital cam's - the lught seems just fine, yet the camera doesnt seem to think so.
