Random 'default beep' on windows 7

This has become similar to chinese water torture on my system.

I recently did a fresh install on win7 sp1 on this system. However, as I use the computer it emanates the windows 'default beep' sound event spuriously. eg. I will use the mouse to drag a window out to a larger size *beep*, I will click on a tab in chrome *beep*, next 3 tabs nothing, then *beep* again. I click on form button on a webpage, *beep*.

It's honestly driving me crazy now. Any idease where to look? I don't want to just turn my speakers off.

Well, you could adjust your sound scheme to silence that (and/or other) windows sounds.
