My computer had an issue that started about 3 months ago where it would turn off immediately after being turned on. I found out if i left it off for a good half hour or so it would come up fine and stay on so this was never a big issue. More recently the problem has expanded and now the computer comes up and turns off after being on for about 10 minutes. The problem is getting worse and now the computer cant stay on for more than a few minutes. My question is is this a psu issue? I also had a problem with my computer going into a suspend mode and not being able to recover when i came back to it. This might just be a software issue or i was thinking something with the mobo or processor. So I figure its probably the psu but might be mobo or proc...any second opionions on this or what i can try to fix it? thanks.

Specs?

Could be a psu, but it could also be a heat issue.... list your specs and we can probably give a better idea of what's going wrong....

how specific do you need...I bought the case from newegg its that popular piano black antec one that costs 100 bucks. it came with a 450W psu that is probably plenty for my midrange/lowend rig. I have a pci-e 16 vidcard, 2 hard drives, 2 cd rw drives...everythings pretty standard. 100 dollar epox motherboard that is no longer on newegg...939 amd processor venice 3000 or something like that - not dual core. If its an issue with heat would the proc/heatsink interface getting a little air in between cause this? I'm really not sure.

I would never trust a psu that came with a case... and if there is actually an air gap between the cpu and hsf then yeah...that's going to be a big problem. Good contact with the proper amount of thermal paste is a must.
