Hope this is posted in the right place. I have an old Compaq v5000(5306US) notebook I installed a wireless N card in link and at the same time I also installed windows 7 64 home premium. The laptop works fine, all drivers besides the sound driver were automatically detected by windows and the sound was easy to get to work too, just had to manually install it is all. This network card gives random "can not start device (code: 10) errors though. 9 times out of 10 it's fine, but that one time I boot the laptop and it does it I have to restart it before it recognizes it. It works but just kinda a pita to have to do that, any idea what would cause it? I do have the latest bios for the laptop but it is a modded one with the whitelist removed so I can install non HP branded hardware but that shouldn't effect anything since nothing but the whitelist stuff was touched right? It's just annoying and I'd like to get it fixed if it's something dumb. Thanks for any advice, not sure what else to do. I've used the windows update driver and the one from the manufacturer's site, both are the same atheros ar922x driver, and same result with both of them. thanks for any advice, I've tried all I can think of but if you have any ideas I'll give it a go
