random black screen.

I'm trying to fix this problem.. but I can't seem to find the solution for this issue.
Issue only happens when I'm playing a game.
Black(blank) screen appears on monitor with orange light(idle mode) on monitor.
I swapped video card.. problem remains.
I swapped monitor.. problem remains.

I was wondering whats cauasing it?
I'm guessing it would be MB or PSU.. anyone had similar problem?

I still have the same issue.. seem to happen at a 70c degree

I am not over clocking or adjusting the fan speed
I just use the driver on nvidia page which default for my product is 60 % fan speed

Im getting new Power supply,, but i dont knwo if this will solve it

I also notice It seem to temporarily fix with win 7 self rollback driver system.. but later it continues to cause issue ..

There are so many things that can cause this. What are your specs?

Mobo? (exact model)
CPU? Overclocked y/n & exact model
Ram? How many chips?
Power Supply? (exact model)
How many hard drives?
How many Optical Drives?
What videocard/s

note: observing hhd led indicator light(no activity), system seem to hang up but it doesn't auto restart.
i swapped monitor during black screen session, nothing happens.

Make sure to download and install the latest motherboard chipset drivers for your X38 chipset

Check your event viewer to see if there are any error logs stamped showing a clue as to what may be causing this.

See if you can reseat your ram, try again, try the videocard in the other pci express slot, try again, disable all overclocking, try again, test using another power supply. Your power supply has 4 12v rails so make sure that the videocard and cpu are using the 2 with the highest amperage. Make sure nothing is daisy chained to the video card power connector if using a splitter.

Finally see if you can download a full system diagnostic to test your hard drive and ram. Memtest 86 works great for the ram, and for the hard drive you can ususally find a vendor specific free download at the hard drive manufacturer website.

At this point I dont think it's the card or the monitor, however your motherboard, pcie slot on mobo, ram, hard drive, and power supply are all in question.
