ok, i determined that the PSU i got was DOA, sparkle 460 EPS. Ok replaced with enermax, it fires up. But, when i connrected everything up, the system powers on, but the motherboard doesnt beep at all. The cpu fan comes on, but i just get a blank screen with no signal from the video card. Ive tried thinking of possible solutinons but im stumped, its either the motherboard now or the cpu is dead, or im missing something.

Ran into another snag with cousins computer...

- clear CMOS
- reseat video card
- try different video card (PCI if possible)
- remove video card and try it, see if you get beep codes
- reseat RAM
- remove RAM and see if you get beep codes
- check mobo to ensure it's not grounded to the case somehow
- check mobo visually, look for obviously missing parts, loose/broken caps, etc
That's what I'd try. If you used a faulty PSU before, it's very possible that it blew a chip on the mobo or your CPU.

Ok guys, i stripped it completely down to the CPU/HSF, and plugged in the speaker module. Nothing. It still doesnt beep at you at all. I also noticed that the powersupply i got, pin #5 or 6 was missing on the connector. Im stumped here, i also reseated the cpu, and that didnt work either, tried clearing the CMOS as well, i also fired the computer up outside the case and that didnt work.
correction, that would be pin #18 sorry for the confusion. Anyway, i tried plugging in RAM, and the video card, and the screen doesnt do anything, i dont hear anything from the BIOS what so ever, pressing keys on the keyboard does nothing... Does this sound like a dead motherboard to you guys? I found out that the white wire is missing, which is pin #18, -5vdc. Would this be causing my problem?
