I just bought 8 radio shack heatsinks for my 9800's ram. I now have a few questions:

1) Can I mix krazy glue with thermal paste to bond the ram and heatsink together instead of thermal epoxy?

2) The bottom of the sinks are anodized so should I sand the anodized coat away? Link to picture

3) I have searing hot ram on my card, will the krazy glue/thermal goop mixture hold under extre

Mixing Crazy glue with Thermal paste is not a good idea.
It's better to just buy some thermal epoxy.

If you absolutly must...gun pointed to your head...have to use crazy glue then put drops of the crazy glue on the corners and thermal paste in the middle.

The bond won't be great as thermal epoxy, but if you get some good glue it should hold.

A.) Your link doesn't work or you forgot to put it in.

B.) I wouldn't MIX the glue and thermal compound. I know a lot of people besides myself that put a small dot of thermal paste in the center of the ram chip, and put small dabs of glue on the corners of the ram chip. Then stick the sink on, apply pressure for about 15-20 seconds...and it should be semi-permanent AND you get the full benefit of the thermal past in the center. The glue will hold in the heat that the ram puts out. I've had heatsinks glued to my GF2GTS ram, and my 9600xt ram and the ram on both was vmodded and clocked fairly high...no problems.

C.) sanding the anodized surface off the bottom of the heatsink would have *minimal* gain usually. however, if you're going to make them permanent and use good thermal paste...go the extra step, it won't hurt.
