Im looking to upgrade my ram but unsure what i should go for. At moment i have 3x2gb kit , Corsair Dominator DHX+ DDR3 1600MHz 6GB, which is from 2009.

I think i need at least 12gb, since i keep lots of apps open, do i have to build up with same brand, Corsair kit, or can i buy another brands and add that to what i have..

Option 1 2x8GB
Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600 MHz 16GB Black. Price 140 dollar here, any good ?

Option 2 2x4GB
Corsair Dominator DHX DDR3 1600MHz 8GB , Price 107 dollar.

What do u guys think is better ?
I imagine with the first option i would not need my current kit, which would mean to just throw em or sell em. While with the second i could my use of the old ones. btw is fewer kit better.. like is 2x8gb better than 4x4gb ?

u can just buy an SSD put the pagefile there stick with your current RAM and performance will increase A LOT !!!

Entirely depends on if the op's system is actually paging or not... Which he doesn't know.

OP, check your Ram usage to see if you're running short.
