I've had 512 (2x 256) of pc2100 for awhile now and finally upgraded to 1024 (2x 512) of pc3200 DDR400...The problems im having is random rebots...ctd's and a VPU Recovery error when playing any type of 3D game. Heres my system:
AMD Athlon XP 1600+
1024 pc3200 DDR400 Kingston
ATI 9600 XT
2 Hard drives 40 gig and 120 gig(only shows up as 31.4 but thats a whole different problem)
Albatron KX600 Pro motherboard
420 Watt PSU
1 56X CDROM
1 Floppy drive
My case temp is at about 30C and CPU at 40C and video card at 35C so Im not having any overheating problems...and heres another odd thing. I figured my RAM was corrupted or something so I tryed sticking in just one stick of 512 of my new pc3200 DDR400 and everything ran fine...no errors...no problems at all. I tryed a single stick in all three of my RAM slots and it worked just fine everytime. So I thought it was my other stick that was messed up...did the same thing with it, put it through all three RAM slots and everytime no problems. I have run out of ideas on what to do...so any suggestions out there? Also my board says it supports DDR400 and all so that should not be a problem...Im just plain confused...
