Hey guys, I posted this a few days ago but I still haven't been able to figure it out. I'm running my system at 12x200 (2400) and I'm trying to run my cosrair xms series ram at the default timings (6-2-2-2) i believe. But it won't boot up even with 2.9 vdimm. However if I run it at 166fsb and up to 180fsb it runs flawless. However, isn't this async and therefore decrease my performance? Or I may be way off on that, not sure. Also, I'm not able to O/C as much as I'd like with the fsb that low, should I set it that low and just multi o/c or keep my mem timings at stock (aggresive 8-3-3-2.5 i think). Thanks
 
That is NOT the rams fault, it is the motherboard which has a bug and doesnt work at 200 sync. Try 205 and it will work fine ;)
 
shouldnt that memory be fine at 2.9V. i run mine at 2.8V because that is the highest the asus bios will allow me to go.

his voltages aren't too high, only 2.9 vdimm and 1.85 vcore...

i try to keep it at 2.8 to be safe, but whatever....

that ram should be able to run at 2-2-2-6 though (perhaps not prime95 or memtest stable though), so maybe it is a motherboard problem...
 
lol...voltages arent high at ALL...especially if its bh-5. I run 3.4v day to day, because it gets me THIS;) Yes, thats 520mhz 2-2-2-5 my friends!

Thats also PC3500...nicely overclocked, but still...:)

Also, that purple in the color palette looks corrupted...perhaps your machine isn't stable....:p

edit: 3.5 volts is enough to make the DESK stable...how is that ram not boiling or fried?

lol yeah that damn paint is an intensive program, tough to get all the colors stable:p

ram is memtest stabe looping test #5 for a few hours. doesnt go over 114F. Thats with a temp probe.

And any bh-5 could do this, I dont care if it pc3200. I think there is even some bh-5 in pc3000 form that people have been hitting around the same overclocks with.

Seriously though, there is some color corruption, but I dont see it in paint, its near my system tray where the temp monitor is...wonder why that is, probably because it was a bmp and i changed it to jpg.

no, i would not eat your shit, but i have seen an article on ram timings with nforce 2, and that was determined as the best, however, i will still do testing with my own system
 
I can't get 11-2-2-2 to run on my system, otherwise I would. I have read quite a few posts actually that agree with what your stating though. Something about a bug with the nforce2 mobo that it doesn't clock the tras right and therefore having an 11 works wonders. I'm really not all that educated in this subject so I'm not going to pretend like I am. That's just what I've read.

i can't quite get 11-2-2-2 to work on mine either, instead, i got my PC2700 value ram at 11-3-3 CAS2
