what do you do when your motherboard reads spd from ram incorrectly and the motherboard doesn't give an option to change the anything but the cas latency?

msi k8t master2-far
2xmushkin pc3200 reg, 2-3-2-6
opteron 246

one stick works perfectly, reads ddr400, 2-3-2-6, but the other one reads ddr333, 2.5-3-3-7. but the motherboard doesn't allow for changing the frequency. if both stick are put in though, the computer fails to boot. it just beeps. any help appreciated! i think it's a spd misprogramming... so maybe just an rma would do it. thanks.

Look for a setting to use a memory divider. Use this to change the speed at which your memory is running at...

there's no divider setting. no jumpers on the motherboard. you can see the frequency [fsb/mem] and it'll say [200/166] or something like that and it's greyed out so you can't change it. it's ok though, just rma'd it... thanks though :D

Look for an auto setting, once found you should have the option to go manual. Once manual is selected new options should appear. Incidently, Miushkin may have sent you the wrong stick. you might want to give them a call. It won't be the first time that sort of thing happened
