ram sinks, please help

What cools ram better? Those entire sheets like what come standard with corsair, kingston, mushkin, etc. Or those little siks that go onto each invidual module of the ram?

I personally feel that individual heatsinks can and do make a difference. I use some of the tweakmonster ones on my 9800 pro, and they seem to take off a massive amount of heat. I'm not really sure that those flat heatspreaders do much though. In any case, they can't hurt, and they look sweet.
 
If you go for a heatspreader go with copper. And for system ram I don't know if indv. heatsinks would even fit on some mobo's, but they do cool better esp on a graphic card.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if your pc case doesn't have good circulation a heatsink/heatspreader wont help you too much.

I concur. But I think the individual heatsinks do better than the sheets.
 
lets see, ram generates a lot of heat, thick pieces of copper/ aluminum absorb lots of heat. These pieces when placed atpo ram absorb the large quantity of heat generated by the ram (ramsinks)
 
system ram doesn't really get that hot though.. :/

On video cards, I'd rather put individual sinks on, as opposed to cards that come with hsfs covering gpu and all the ram in one piece.

As far as system ram, I don't really think it matters, but I do like the heatspreaders for the pretty factor.
