RAM sink mounting question

I have an idea for mounting my RAM sinks, and I wanted to bounce it off the experts here:

I am using a Koolance PC4-1025BK, which is based on a modified PC-V1000 Lian Li case.

The Lian Li case uses an inverted motherboard layout. This means that my GPUs will be towards the top of the case, and more importantly: The top of all the ICs on the GPUs face up, instead of down.

This means that the RAM sinks are less likely to fall off, at least as a result of gravity.

I think this gives me a new option for mounting my RAM sinks that isn't available to most folks. What I'm thinking is this: Can I remove the existing sticky tape from the RAM sinks, and use a thick and gooey heat sink compound (I'm thinking Ceramique) to hold my RAM sinks on? What would be the problems/precautions I may face? (Like, what if the compound gets on any IC pins? Is there a better compound I should use instead of Ceramique?)

I may need to turn my case on it's side occasionally, so I need a compound that would hold the sinks on during occasional maintenance.

Aside from making my RAM sink installation a lot easier, there would be a definite benefit of getting a better thermal transfer by using a quality compound over using the lesser quality tape.

Cover the corner of each chip with a bit of tape, Apply your ceramique or wahtever in a very thin layer. Remove the tape and put a pinprick of superglue. press the chip down into the superglue/TIM and hold for 10s. Remember to take the TIM pads off the chip before doing this.

Works WONDERS.

I will be able to try this on some of my RAM sinks, but access to others is limited. I'm trying to avoid breaking my loop. Will the Ceramique alone be sufficient for normal use, since the chips face up?

Also, will your superglue process work on the NVIO chip and MOSFETs?

I can't believe this is happening. I got my shipment in from Petra's Tech, and thought I would finally get my system running.

But ...

It is impossible to get the MOSFET sinks to stay on my lower GPU card. One of the WC hoses keeps knocking them off.

My upper card seems OK right now - the sinks are all in place (though I couldn't get the superglue to work on any of the remaining RAM sinks).

The only thing remaining right now is how to get the MOSFET sinks installed.

I'll try to post pictures tomorrow.

I am at my wit's end! :(
