Ram require more power

I recently built a new x99 rig and went with a 5930k, MSI x99A M-Power motherboard. For the ram I decided on G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 F4-3000C15Q-16GRR.

The memory is supposed to run at ddr4 3000 with 1.35v using the XMP profile. However when I give it 1.35 my system is not stable and usually hangs. However when I up the power to 1.40 viola everything works perfectly at the advertised speeds.

Do you guys think I should RMA this or switch and get some other memory?
 
It may be you motherboard or CPU or even related to your power supply. Remember with overclocking your experience will vary.
 
Guess I'll see what sort of power options MSI has in place for this board.
 
+0.05v shouldn't harm the memory, but if you can't find anything else in the system causing it to be flaky and don't want to keep the voltage bump, you can RMA it.
 
have you tested each Module separated? that way you can find if the problem is related to a single memory stick or if is a problem with the kit also you can try moving the stick to other RAM slot and see how behave. it should be easy as you are only using 4 sticks.
 
I would be surprised that you were able to get a Haswell-E IMC to run at 3000 MHz. Most reports I've seen show Haswell-E topping out around 2666 MHz.
 
I guess am lucky on that part :)

I'll try to test each memory stick individually and see if one is causing the issue
