RAM not performing properly

I just built a new gaming system, and everything is working
hunky-dory, except for my RAM. Here's the relevant specifics:

Mobo: ABIT KV8 MAX3
Memory: 2 x 512 MB TwinMOS DDR 400 Mhz PC3200

The thing is, my memory refuses to run at 400 Mhz: the
puter bluescreens during boot. I dumbed it down to 333
Mhz in BIOS and everything works fine, even a full battery
of tests with Memtest-86 found nothing.

The mobo ought to be able to handle 2 units of RAM at
400 Mhz. I don't see why this is not working. Should
I get the RAM exchanged?

I suggest using ram in slots 1 and 3 and double check memory voltages, try using "in-specs" memory timmings too.

if ur memory isnt able to run by spd than you should RMA it. theres no point in having to run your computer slower because they sent you bad ram.
