On my powerbook g4 I have 256 megs of ram it is left alone to fold for 24/7 is thatg enough to push out some or the 600 point and 400point WU!
 
My a64 is chewing through a 600pt WU right now. Looks like the core is using ~105MB of memory.

My secondary rig is also munching on a 600pt'er, but I have no way of viewing the task manager without rebooting it, which isn't gonna happen! heh (Remote Desktop not setup anymore =/)

 
I think it shouldbe able to take the 600 pointers without a problem. I have a couple of borgs w/ 256 mb and they have not noticed any slowdowns. You might have problems w/ the QMD cores which take a lot more memory.
