RAM Drive question

I've been thinking about adding a RAM Drive to my system.

Current specs:

Intel E5-2660
Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3
2x128GB Crucial M4 (RAID0)
2x640GB WDAALS (RAID0)

I was thinking I could use my spare 128GB Crucial C300, or 500GB 7200RPM drive.

Is it worth setting up? I'm thinking most people would say go with the Mechanical vs the SSD as one of the whole points of using a RAM Drive is to reduce the writes on your SSD's.

Advice?

Hi, ShepsCrook,

To get started you might want to head over to the DR RAMDisk website. A RAM disk doesn't utilize SSDs or HDDs it uses part of your system RAM to create a virtual disk drive.
