ram dividers...wha?

heres the situation, i can't get my ram past 213fsb without it turning into crash city. right now, 2500m @ 2.45 ghz 1.65vcore, 2.8vdimm, and samsung pc3200 512mb 2.5-3-3-8 (also tried 11).

i have 2 questions regarding the ram dividers in my a7n8xe-deluxe bios..

1. will it help boost the fsb higher?

2. how do i use it? all i see is percents, like 80%, 100%,120% etc.

don't use it.. you can get a higher fsb on the cpu, but it will be waiting on your memory and cause delays and actually decrease your performance.. this is called running async.. it works fine on p4's and ok on a64 but not on socket A... your ram will probably do higher than 217 just fine if you do 3-4-4-x.. but then your latencies might not make it worth it.. i don't see anything wrong with your fsb though.. sure you can hit crazy numbers if you really want.. but you have to cool your northbridge and southbridge better.. and make sure you don't fry your ram, and all that for not much gain..

i personally don't even notice a difference in real life application between my cpu @ 215 x 11.5 and 200 x 10 (which is what i have had it at for a few months now)... i dont' game though.. maybe you do and it makes s difference

edit, i have no experinece with that motherboard.. but you could probably boost your memory voltage a bit and it will be fine... i haven't played with taht though because my motherboard will supposedly die if i touch the vdimm.. i just know what it does in theory

my vdimm is already topped at 2.8 on my mb. I might try the 3-4-4-x thingy... and also, i don't game that often, but i like to get the most out of my hardware.
 
i don't necessarly like benchmarks.. but get some benchmark software.. and run it at your current config.. 2.5-3-3-x.. @213.. and see what you get.. then try it at 3-4-4-x @230 or so.. the first one might actually be faster.. because latencies matter a lot to socket A.. even more so than fsb... now with intel you want the opposite.. high bandwidth, high latencies..
