i was reading a forum thread somewhere and they talked about the "need" for active ram cooling. i found this one here on newegg and was wondering what you had to say about cooling the ram on an oc system.

If anything, I'd only do it if:
A) Enclosed space with little airflow.
B) Pushing 2.2v or more through the RAM at high speeds (DDR2-1000+)
C) Shinies.

With that said, a smartly positioned 80mm/120mm fan would do the trick, and also get your northbridge for you.

i have a couple pics here of my physical setup. hardly any cables or obstructions in airflow, and a couple extra fans i added this summer.

ram voltage at 2.3V i believe.

they are cool to the touch. my northbridge is taken care of my chipset cooler with a fan on it (stock with motherboard)

so you dont think i would need to get that cooler then right?

No, it wouldn't do you any good. Especially with that 80 you got there... Wish I had space to do that.

thats why i spent the extra money and got a full tower case, plus i will probably use it for the better part of a decade, was a good investment
