I'm on some really tight budget and I need the best bang for buck on ram and case+PSU. I already got a 3.0GHZ Northwood w/HT + Soyo Dragon 2 board + 40gb HD. I've considered those ValueRams but their isn't really large price gaps between those high end rams such as hyper-x or xms. Finally, my mobo only supports ATX 12V ONLY(P4 PSU), kinda confusing me there. :rolleyes:
 
Since I like to OC, I always buy the best RAM I can afford. For the PSU, there are 2 connectors to the mobo now. The traditional ATX connector and a new, little, 4 pin connector that supplies extra power. If your mobo says it needs it, just make sure the PSU has it. Normally, the PSU will say "made for P4" or something, which means it has it. If you look at the mobo, you'll see the connector (it's square), and just imagine what would go into it, and look for one of those wires coming out of the PSU. Most PSU's these days have it, though.
 
RAM is RAM (if it's from from a good company) unless you're looking for serious OC or low latency for benchmark bragging rights (I know, this from someone running PNY RAM...). As for the case, check the PSU spec for "ATX 12V connector". Any case listed as P4 compliant should have one. As Sandman said, it's a seperate 4 pin connector dedicated for the CPU power line.

EDIT: I should have said "Value RAM from a quality company is still Quality RAM." The performance line will OC better and have latency timing advantages, but most users would be happy with the value line.
