So I've beaten Need for Speed Most Wanted, and I'm looking for a new racing game. I'd like something a little less arcade, and I'm interested in trying a rally game.

I see Richard Burns and Colin McRae, is one better or is it mostly preference? Are there other choices?

I do have a Logitech wheel, no arrow keys for me.

For a system, it's an Athlon64 3200, x800xt, gig of ram, which I suppose was awesome a year and a half ago, but not really anymore. So something that can run well on my machine.

I still play Rallisport Challenge PC now and then. It was a terrible idea to release the sequel only for MS's console. DICE made another game long ago called Michelin Rally Masters. More tracks but, for me, less longevity than RSC.

When you're ready for a break from arcade physics, Rally Trophy with the TT-Mod is amazing. In turns, you have to match the throttle to the wheel speed to avoid slip. That's a lot to think about.

Be advised that the emphasis in some rally simulators is on solo driving. I do think this can be fun the first few times you drive a course, but those games may never be favorites of mine.

Play the RBR demo before you buy the game. You're GOING to get frustrated. CMR might be something to play after Rallisport Challenge and before Rally Trophy or RBR.

edit: too many games with "Rally" in the title!
 
My brother plays Xpand Rally. It looked like a pretty nice game.
