Raja Koduri Leaving Intel

From the reports, they are working better than expected in their desired roles, what those are though or what the bar was set at is unknown, but they do their jobs faster than what AMD or Nvidia were providing at the time.
They may or may not have a small nuclear reactor powering them at the DoE though, I mean if anybody has access to one of those it would be them.
Well crypto are getting powerplants to run their gpus soo I don't see why Intel can't do the same?

well Intel built the cards for the Department of Energy so they could do their research or whatever it is they do for research because the AMD and Nvidia offerings weren't up to the task as they desired so they hired Intel for a custom job and the Ponte Vecchio cards were what came of it, the fact they can be used for the rest of the market is a bonus I suppose.
The DoE had AMD build a similar system and it does roughly half the computational work of the Intel one, so it functions as the backup and took over some tasks from their older systems.

We're talking about Raja Koduri not Jim Keller 🙂
Jim Keller is hanging out in Bangalore with Raja Koduri at a RISC-V conference.
