Ok well, Ive been trying to make a stable oc at 16x215 but i ran cpuz and reports my volatage at 1.5 so I went into bios and set it to 1.55 and now shows as 1.536 should that be enough and I know 1.5 Volta is not the normal voltage for a 3.2Ghz Northwood... isnt it like 1.55 and can go to 1.575 without hurting it? :rolleyes:


Anyway in bios I do 16x213 and memory freq is 426 then 214 mem is 428 then when I go to 215 mem frequency goes down to 357 is that bad? :rolleyes:
 
are you new to overclocking or is it just that your RAM can't handle high FSB?

if your new, lower your multiplier and raise the FSB, higher FSB is better atleast for AMD.

like if you do 210 X 10 = 2100

and if you do

233 X 9 = 2097

the 233 FSB is better

Ok thanks, its an intel. its stable at 213x16 right now, I'm thinking not to push it.

Yeah, it was my first cpu. a k6 233mhz........

By the way my mobo doesnt have jumpers, it said remove the battery.... so I guess i do that if it doesnt reboot???


I dont want to kill the processor, it has to last 1 1/2 more years.... :p
 
wierd ok when I restart my comp, go into cmos and change the fsb and boot it works fin but once i turn my comp off, get to the log on screen and windows appears my mouse freezes!
 
you might need to increase your vcore a notch. just make sure your idle/load temps are fine
 
Ok well 3.4 at 213x16 wasnt stable while playing games and would freeze so I figured I would up the voltage, next boot it went I checked cpuz and it read 1.536 GHZ! with 99.9 FSB! I'm like wth so I check my computer it reads 3.41 so I reboot and it wont start, so I turn off the comp let it for 20 seconds it boots and I set everything back to normal.... Maybe ocing isnt for me ????????

at 16x216 the comp would restart.............





In simple un mumble terms....



The Comp booted at 16x213 with the vcore in bios read at 1.56 and in cpuz read at 1.552 but it showed the clock speed at 100 FSB and 1.536 GHZ.... When I rebooted the comp didnt start. So I unplugged the power cable waited 20 seconds and ir rebooted, then not to take another chance I reset cmos to defaults.
