Has anyone been able to use the Xbox 360 controller with Rainbow Six Vegas on a PC? I have a ChillStream pad, and after downloading the latest patch I have the option to use the "Xbox 360 controller for windows". When this is selected, nothing seems to work in the game. I have searched around, but I cannot see to find an answer.

Any help would be appreciated. Please spare me the comments about gaming on a PC with a controller. Thanks!

No dice. The more I read the more I was pushed towards the conclusion that only the Xbox 360 wired controller will work in certain games. Logitech conformed to some universal button mapping when they created the chillstream (which looks exactly like the Xbox 360 controller). The problem is, not all game developers adhered to this standard as well. Hence the reason why the Microsoft wired controller will only work.

The Xbox 360 wired controller works. I'm not sure what the difference is, since Windows detects the Chillstream as an Xbox 360 Controller as well.

Gasp, you are on the PC, how can you be using a console controller? :D

Does the game make aiming easier if you are using a controller? Because even with the accuracy of the mouse, I need some serious accuracy and speed when playing co-op or multiplayer.

i think it has an auto aim... but i cant be sure, has been a long time since i gave my friend his copy back, couldnt be bothered on a 6800 lmfao

On the flip side, I think I've seen it, but does the 360 have a keyboard and mouse accessory for it?

The 360 controller already contains the required drivers though . I for one enjoy using the 360 controller when playing games with more " complex" moves. Such as RB Six and BioShock. But for strict FPS games you cant beat the mouse/keyboard combo.

I usually use the KB & Mouse as well. I use the controller for racing games as well as when I want to sit in bed and play a game. It's not really a matter of accuracy (I stink either way :)), it's just being about to move away from my desk.

the wired controller works fine on my setup.

You are using the Xbox 360 wired controller? That works fine, but other controllers that look excatly like the 360 controller (Like the Logitech Chillstream) do not work in some games even though they are detected as the same controller.
