has anyone done a decent review of this PSU??? Even if it sucks free is free....assuming you get the rebate back.

Before saying any thing about PSU, check my SIG.

I am running Q6600@ 4.1GHZ
2 Water PUMPS (MCP650 +Thermaltake's)
4GB RAM
X1900XT
9 X 120mm fans
3 X Radiators
DVD Writers
Fan Controller
2 X 320GB SATAII HDD
1 X 90mm fan
12" Cathode tube
ATI HDTV Tunner

AND I CANNOT HEAR IT RUNNING, SO QUITE AND WORKING ABSOLUTELY FINE.

It looks like an older Topower but I can't tell for sure.

Mind poping the top?

Hey crack on everything I run a dynex psu in every rig in my sig and have not had a single problem. the 12v rails are more stable then on my silverstone psu in my old rig

How do you know the Dynex 12v rails are more stable? There are very few Silverstones that I have seen that are less well built than those Huntkeys.

Hey Paul out of curiosity are there any professional line PSUs, like SUPER stable better than any consumer product that would work on a consumer desktop????

Well the line between professional and consumer has been blurring for a while now. Generally however the real highend units come from Zippy/Emacs, Lite-On, Delta, Win-tact, and a few others but they tend to be in alternate formfactors (but not always) or different designs qualified specifically for their platform, loud, not as efficient, expensive, and hard to get for consumers.

ic, thanks for the answer....that makes sense b/c you never see anyone really talking about it on here.

Not a problem, just don't be fooled by some companies claiming to have server lines or server pedigree. ATNG for instance has a server lines of power supplies but they are NOTHING like what you get from offerings like Lite-On, or Zippy. Some are middle of the road in that regard like people using some of SevenTeam's server lines. Certainly closer to server power supplies like Zippy or Delta than ATNG still not exactly the same class they are a hell of a lot closer than ATNG.

Even though RAIDMAX is bigger but Ultra is Heavier. :D

Ultra served me for years, it was getting a little louder. I will see how this goes.

It looks nice. Then again I don't buy PSUs based on looks, just performance. I want to see some decent testing on it first before I start recommending it.

I've been running the same RAIDMAX PSU for little over 3 months now, so far so good.

Blends in nicely with my Antec 900 and Zalman 9700 LED.

I remember when people use to say the same thing about ULTRA PSUs. Look now it has been in the top products for almost an year.

Because they've been properly tested by HardOCP and JonnyGuru so we know exactly how good Ultra PSUs are. But you're right, PSU companies can release good products despite their bad rep in the past. Rosewill's Extreme Power PSUs are actually pretty decent.

But haven't seen a proper test done on a Raidmax yet so I'll hold off on recommending it. Though if it was a great quality PSU, then its price isn't bad considering that it's modular.
