Yep. It's a weird one. Whenever my card does a bit of I/O or I have a failed disk, the PS/2 mouse will cease to work. Sometimes it'll come back after a while but other times it requires a reboot.

USB mice are unaffected.

I had this issue on my old Gigabyte 7NNXP and assumed it was the board - since upgrading to a Tyan K8WE, I have run into the same problem.

Has anybody experienced this before?
 
Sounds like your RAID card is using IRQ 12, the same IRQ used by the PS/2 port for the mouse.

Switch to USB and save yourself the headache of IRQ re-routing.
 
Hmm, didn't think of that!

The issue with USB is that it means I need to run a second mouse - while I might settle on this solution, it means I don't get mouse switching with my KVM.

Edit: appears to be using IRQ 24... what the...
