when i finally get my upgrade, im getting a raptor, and im looking to put in a RAID array. i already have an 80 gig wd, and was hoping the 2 would go together.

1. would they be compatable
2. what is the best card to get for raid?
 
It is possible to do raid with different types of HD, but performance will suffer. You will be wasting the money on the raptor if you put it in an array with a crappy (in comparison) drive. If you have to do raid, save up for two raptors, or just buy a HD similar to what you already have.
