Just a quick opinion kinda thing. Would I get better performance running dual 160 gigs with 8 meg buffers (striping) or just one 300 gig with a 16 meg buffer?

Abit NF7-S 2.0
XP 3200+
Kingston Hyperx 2-2-2-6 (1 Gig)
Radeon 9800 Pro
Thermaltake Volcano 12+

The 300gb with 16mb buffers makes more sense to me heh ;) , but whatever works.

I only ask because I am very unfamiliar with RAID, anyone know any GOOD links to learn about raid?

160GB x2 8mb 7200 rpm.. raid 0

300gb 16mb 7200rpm

in theory 320GB 16MB cache 14,400rpm ^_^

oh and raid is cake, manual with mobo will hold your hadn through it.

stripe 0...

Create array, choose HD1 and Hd2

make sure its set for stripe, choose "go, create array" whatever, it is, the manual says what to do.
