Raid from an Image.

[Uncle]

Is it possible to set up a raid from an Image vs a fresh install. After all these years with winxp I have a perfect working copy of winxp and all my favourite programs and games. I really am not looking forward to installing from scratch. Any ideas would be appreciated.

it should be. A lot of the *bootable* backup programs appear to use bios (13h?) to access hard drives. If that's the case, then it's going through the mobo's RAID support, and it should just work.

The one caveat... windows does not use bios to access drives. So, the driver has to be preinstalled in the image.

Hmm... i donno. I'd install the raid driver, then take the backup snapshot.

Or.... surely there's a utility that came with your mobo or raid card for migrating between raid configurations, *including* from single-disk to RAID?
