Lookin for a suggestion for an IDE RAID controller (PCI of course). I dunno much about them or the different chipsets in dealing with them....

Need more info......
What do you want to do with this RAID controller?
Number of drives?
Type of RAID? 0/1/0+1/10/4/5/6/50/JBOD

You help us, we help you! ;)

To toss out some general idea.

Promise makes some two channel ones that aren't bad as well as a 4 channel and a 6 channel. 3ware makes some gigantic 4-12 channel controllers.

whoa, totally forgot about this, sorry. I got 2 x 160GB Western Digital HDDs that I wanna setup in RAID 0 to get true RAID. Right now I am using the software RAID on my DFI Ultra-D with one as a master and one as a slave on the same cable.

A decent promise raid controller should work just fine for you then. Though, with raid 0, it's more of just AID because there is no redundancy.
