I am thinking of setting up a Raid5 on my current system for file storage and stuff but was curious on a Raid Controller card. My motherboard supports Raid5, but am not sure if I should go with a raid card instead (better performance/reliability?). My motherboard is an Asus P5W DH Deluxe.

Worth getting a raid controller card or just use what my mobo has?

That depends on what you are willing to spend. If you are just going to play around with it then you should probably stick with the soft-raid on your motherboard. If you are looking for something better, take a look at 3Ware and Areca (but note that neither of these will come cheap for a new model).
