Raid Controller Needed?

[marley1]

Looking to do Raid 10 with 10k Raptors. Need some recommendations on a fast card but as inexpensive as we can?

I want to use these drives as my budget and needs can't afford SAS drives, but want something a bit faster than regular sata drives. Was going to use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...m_re=raptor_hard_drive-_-22-136-296-_-Product

I see:

But open to others, of course.

Help needed!

Why?

Why what? Just realized some of the cheaper cards are software based. I have used the 3ware 9650 before is that still the best bang for the buck?

LSI 4i is a great card if you ever upgrade to ssds

Any other options?

don't get it if you plan to stick with raptors though, it's overkill. if you decide to go ssd though, it's the card you want.
