I've got an old mobo - about 3 years old, without a raid controller built in. I was thinking about buying a SIIG card or a Promise card. Anyone know about the best PCI RAID card + hard drive setup? For example, could I get a SATA controller and SATA hard drives if my mobo doesn't support it (but my PSU does?) or is IDE better?
