I am looking for a SAS RAID card. Not looking for a top of the line card, but something middle class. Something that has these specs:

  • 8 ports
  • 256MB or larger cache
  • Supports BBU
  • RAID5. RAID50 or RAID60 a plus
  • Compatible with either the HP or Intel SAS expander card
  • No more than $400 to $500 with BBU.

LSI MegaRAID SATA/SAS 9260-8i 6Gb/s PCI-Express 2.0 w/ 512MB onboard memory RAID Controller

The LSI 9260-8i looks pretty good, but would be a bit out of my price especially with a BBU.

Unless u find a second hand raid card + bbu u cannot get it at that price

BBU is not that important. I run mine without it and its been fine transferring big files 5-15tb bluray
