RAID Card Help

I have been using a RAID card to simply provide me with two additional IDE channels, and recently transferred it to a different computer. I have a DVD drive and HDD connected to it, but they do not show in Windows. They do, however, show when the card has it's own screen in the computer's startup process. It shows the DVD drive and HDD as being connected. Strange... I don't think I actually installed any drivers for the card on the computer I previously had it on (it worked perfectly on that one). I got the name "Sil 0680" for the card in start up. So... How can I get the DVD and HDD drives to show and work in Windows? Thanks.
 
go into device management and look to see if you have any hardware conflicts (specifically the raid card). hopefully there is a conflict in which requires the reinstallation of the drivers and not something else.
 
See, the problem with that is that the RAID card doesn't show up in device manager.
 
Have you tried moving it to a different slot? Could you boot a Linux livecd and report the output of "lspci -v"? What happens if you attempt to install the drivers anyways?

 
I have tried putting it in another PCI port, but I haven't tried the Linux thing. Link, maybe?

The odd thing is though, I KNOW the computer is picking it up. The card shows during the computer's startup, and displays anything I have connected to it. It's only in Windows that I have a problem.

Now, interesting thing about that, is that I have a device that comes up as a "Mass Storage Controller" in my Windows device manager, but I remember it being there whether the RAID card was plugged in or not.
 
Well, good news and bad news. The device accepted mage's drivers, but when I installed them, Windows became unstable and wouldn't start up (fixed that though). So... Do I get a new card?
 
Well, the odds are I just remembered wrong. Look around for another set of drivers; I know I had a stable set for Windows somewhere... but slocate isn't playing nice :( If I find mine I'll post 'em; in the meantime I suggest Google ;)

 
Try this set of drivers. The first link; the second only works if you're actually using the card to do RAID. That page looks awfully familiar, maybe these are the right drivers.
