RAID array corrupts data!?

So, I've been having some problems with my RAID-5 array, as I'm sure you're all aware. I had assumed that it was related to my motherboard being malfunctional, but it looks like it may not be - on a new motherboard, I'm still having speed issues.

And as if that weren't bad enough, I just found out any data copied over to my array gets corrupted... STILL. I had hoped that little problem, at least, had been fixed.

HighPoint 2220->SATA Cable->Supermicro 5-in-3 Enclosure->WD3200SD*8

I also have two other drives in these enclosures, both of which use similar cables, and neither of which are exibiting these difficulties, so I THINK I narrowed it down the the RAID card being bad, but I'd like to know if there's any sort of tests I could run to locate the cause of the speed and corruption issues.
