Raid 6 controllers?

Because I like to be contrarian, and because 6 was mentioned the other day...
as we continue increasing drive sizes the amount of data on any partition is increasing. As this happens the consequences of a drive failure increase. As quite a few of the R5 total failures happen during a rebuild, R6 provides the redundancy needed to ensure a complete copy of the data remains.

So Im wondering 2 things. What are any home level R6/SATAII/PCI-E controllers, if any?

Is this an option for software control within a typical linux enviroment?

Mostly dreaming, but I like dreaming :)
