I'm looking for a good hardware based ATA raid 5 card. Can anyone point me to a review of cards like this or recommend me one?
 
well first Id ask what level of throughput your dealing with
what is the application? or environment (multi user\server storage)

and what PCI slot will you have available
32bit\33MHz
64bit\66MHz
PCI-X

and finally how many drives are planned?
RAID 5 gains efficiency (of space) as the number of drives increase
