Raid 5 mixing drive versions.

Today i have a raid 5 containing of 12x ST3500630AS 7200.10 1.5tb drives. On a 3ware 9650se 12ML card.

Yesterday one broke down, so ive sent it back to seagate.

But ive decided to get a cold spare drive. Problem is i cant find the same drive. I can only find the 5600 rpm drive from seagate or the 7200.11 version of the drive. Would it create complications?

No, it should not if it has at least the same size. Get the 7200rpm drive however.

Putting a same size or bigger drive in will work. Even a slower RPM drive will work but will pretty much screw the overall performance alot.

I've got a bunch of extra ST3500630AS 7200.10 drives, PM me if interested. Cold spares always a good idea. But long-term I'd suggest beginning a migration to 2TB drives to refresh your storage.
