I have an old Dell PowerEdge 840 (SBS 2003) with a PERC 5/i adapter connected to 4 disks in RAID-5.
Over the years the original 150GB drives have all be replaced with 500GB drives. The obvious is that we're only using 150GB per disk out of a possible 500GB.
I was about to backup the server, blow away the RAID, reconfigure to use all drive capacity then reload from backup. I'd rather not spend an evening doing that.
Are there any tricks or black magic I can use to make the "extra" 315GB per disk available and then part of the RAID that is already configured?
As for backing up and restoring I was going to use Clonezilla but I'm not sure if I can restore an image to a different size partition/geometry. Ideas?
Thank
