sincemy KG-7 raid mobo dies on me, i just ordered a KW7 raid, which has the new 150 RAID. will i need a converter or something to accomidate for this?
will the old raid arrays i have still be functional? they are raid 0.
is the new raid a different format of storeing, and thus better so if i were to transfer the data to a different medium and then reformat the drives in raid 150 would it be better or is the new raid just hardware/cable related?
thanks.

when you sat 150 raid, what are you talking about? Do you mean serial ata raid controller at 150 MB/s for channel bandwidth vs a pata raid controller at 100MB/s for channel bandwidth or something else all together?

Yer theres no raid 100 or raid 150. There usual ones are 0, 1, 5, 0+1 and 50 (raid 5 + 0)

sorry about the vague details and wrong info
here is what i ment it is a forum post from a abit tech guy

"Yes, there are reports that setting AGP 3.0 cards to backlevel 2x in Bios (per prior advise) can solve the problem with "that issue".

My gut tells me you may have a combination of problems. You did seem to initially feel the SlewRate Control adjustment had some benefit, so you might try both.

BTW, a KW7 for $55.95 and free 2nd day shipping is a bargain. I often shop the websites on Sundays to look for bargains. You can use all your current hardware and it's has an AGP 3.0 slot.

It has SATA Raid. You can covert ATA100/133 drives to SATA using Abit's Serillel2 adapter.

i think i would like to use the SATA on my board as compared ot buying a new raid controller...

seein as i can only connect one sata drive to each slot(2 on the KW7 boarD) i will be neading a raid controller now...
damn
i wish i would have looked more into this mobo b4 i ordered...
annypone kow of a good raid controller?
i used highpoint raid on my old array does it matter what brand card i get if i have highpoint?
or is raid raid? regardles of brand?

also if i were ot get the SATA converter my drive would still only perform at the ata 133 speeds right?
