you can but everything will run at the speed of the 750GB HDDs.....Is it possible to have Raid 10 using 2x 512Gb ssd (stripe) and 2x 750Gb hdd (mirror) or does it need all exact same?

RAID 10 is very much faster than RAID 0...... But not when you blend SSDs and HDDs.....It should work.
I run (4) 120gb SATA2 drives in RAID 10. Performance is a bit above a single drive, but not as fast as RAID 0.
If you cannot get it to work, you can write an XCOPY batch file with the switches /C /S /D /Y. Those switches will copy the subfolders/files the first run, then only copy and overwrite any updated files there after. The first run will take a little time, but it will be a shorted run thereafter.
Make multiple copies of the XCOPY batch file, change the destination drives to suit your needs. Like destination F: on one day, G: for the next, K: for the day after, etc, etc.
You then can set your task manager to run those specific XCOPY batch files on certain times and days. ...automated backup.
never ever heard that before unless thats pre trim daysYou may not want to RAID the SSDs anyways, supposedly, after a period of time, this will slow down their performance as opposed to just being separate.
