Hi!

I'm adding an extra hdd to a 5017c-lf(X9SCL-F, 510L-200B)server so I can set up a RAID 1 disk array , I'm not using any extra controller since one of the onboard product features is:

SATA 6x SATA 2.0 (3Gbps) w/ RAID 0, 1, 5, 10

How can I find out which driver is suitable for the server? (the dvd that comes with the machine only shows drivers for linux/windos, I'm using ESXi 5.0 so I'm not sure if any of those will work)

Will the array (once completed) be detected by default by the OS/HV? (I'm using Vmware vSphere 5.0) or some extra work will be needed?.

thanx in advance for you help!

ESXi will require a hardware RAID controller. Check their HCL for a list of what you can use.
