I've been looking around does anyone have any benchmark reviews they can point me to with game loading times? I don't really care about boot times or file transfer times. Really just care for loading times of games. I know Pc mark9 has a storage benchmark that uses some games but I can't really find a whole lot of results from my quick search that I have done. THINKING of upgrading my RAID 0 array of 6 WD velociraptors but can't really tell if there is going to be a huge decrease in load times.
 
I recommend buying one high-end SSD instead. Samsung 850 Pro is what I'd buy on SATA or the Samsung Samsung xp951 or Intel SSD 750 if you're going PCI-Express (both of these are much faster at everything than your old-school array could possibly be.
 
I agree with Quix, you'll see much better loading times with a good SSD then you will with multiple rotating drives in a RAID 0. It isn't about top speed, it's all about that seek time, and it's almost impossible to beat an SSD. (Unless you go for a Ram Disk)
 
I'm with you man... been thinking of upgrading my raptors.
 
I'm with Quix as well.

You're better off with an SSD than you are RAID-0'ing a bunch of mechanical disks.
 
I posted this in the tread just below this one but I just ran these benchmarks for TR and Batman AC from here and got almost identical times. 7 seconds for Batman and just over 11 for TR.
 
Seriously, if you can afford it, get a SSD.
It will run circles around even the fastest HDD RAID0 arrays, without question.

RAID0 with HDDs is virtually obsolete, especially for the risk involved in losing a disk.
Looking at your sig, you have six WD Velociraptors in RAID0, which honestly, won't compare to a single SATA SSD, let alone a PCI-E or M.2 SSD.

Do yourself a favor, you won't regret it.
